On 4th down, Red 42 runs the ball after a legal forward pass has been made. On their route Blue 12 tries to deflag them but ends up grabbing on to 42's shirt (which was tucked in), this impedes on Red's forward progress. However, Blue 12 finally lets go after 3 seconds, and Red still has their belt attached. At the 10 yard line Red 42 hits the hand of Blue 38 to protect their flag belt as it was attempted to be pulled. Red 42 then scores a touch down. When their belt is checked by the Back Judge it is determined that the flag was tied together.

Enforcement: Holding on the defense and flag guarding on the offense offset. Illegally secured flag belt: touch down is no good, there is an unsportsmanlike given to the player which results in an ejection. This penalty is a loss of down penalty, therefore, it will be Blue's Ball 10 yards from the previous spot.
