Who was David and who was Saul?
Saul was a king. David was the chief/leader of his army.
Who was Jonathan?
Jonathan was a brave warrior and Saul’s firstborn son.

David was 30 yeas old when he became king.
What did Solomon ask Jehovah to give him?
Solomon asked Jehovah to give him wisdom above all else, so that he could properly take care of his people.
Why did Solomon lose his good reputation with Jehovah?
Solomon married many women from other lands, and these wives worshipped idols. Little by little, Solomon changed, and he began to worship idols something that was displeasing to Jehovah.
Why did Saul become Jealous of David?
Saul was jealous of David’s popularity. Whenever David came home from war, the women would come out dancing and singing: ‘Saul has struck down thousands, and David has struck down tens of thousands!’ Saul thus became jealous of David and wanted to kill him.

One day while David was playing the harp, Saul threw his spear at him. David dodged it just in time, and the spear shot into the wall.

He risked his life to help David many times by fighting at his side. Jonathan also told his father to his face that it would be a sin to kill David.

Jehovah’s prophet Ahijah made the judgement message clear. He did this by ripping his own robe into 12 pieces which were used to represent the 12 tribes of Israel.
How did David first try to show that he would not harm Saul and did Saul believe him?
While in a cave, David crept toward Saul who was asleep and cut off a piece of his coat. Although Saul would come to realize this he did not believe David would not harm him.
What did Jonathan give to David as a symbol of their friendship?
Jonathan gave David his own coat, sword, bow, and belt as a sign of friendship.
Who spoke to David about his sins and how was he helped to appreciate what he did was wrong?
Jehovah‘s prophet Nathan spoke to David about his wrongdoings. Nathan gave him an illustration (example) of a rich man taking a poor man’s one and only sheep. David was furious and said the rich man deserved to die. He would come to realize that he was like the rich man in the example.

The queen of Sheba came to test him with difficult questions and based on his answers said admitted that she did not believe what people had told said about Solomon, but now saw that he was even wiser than they said.

Jeroboam king of the ten tribes, which became known as the kingdom of Israel. The other two tribes became known as the kingdom of Judah, and they stayed loyal to their king, Rehoboam.
What event made Saul finally realize David would not harm him?
David took his nephew Abishai and snuck into Saul’s camp. Taking his spear and his watering jug. This is when Saul finally realized that David would not harm him.
What did David do after Jonathan’s death?
David searched for Jonathan’s son Mephibosheth. When David found him, he told Mephibosheth: ‘Because your father was a good friend to me, I will take care of you for the rest of your life. You will live in my palace and eat at my table.
What were David’s major sins against Jehovah and how did he try cover it up?
David slept with and man’s wife (adultery) and she became pregnant. David tried to hide what he had done by telling his general to put Uriah on the front lines of the battle and then to retreat from behind him knowing this would result in the innocent man’s death (murder).
What prayer did Solomon give at the dedication of the temple and how did Jehovah feel about his prayer?
Solomon said “O Jehovah, this temple is not big enough or beautiful enough for you, but please accept our worship and listen to our prayers.’ Jehovah was clearly please because as soon as Solomon finished his prayer, fire came down from the sky and burned up the offerings on the altar.
Why didn’t Jeroboam want his people to worship in Jerusalem and how did he succeed in stopping them from doing this?
Jeroboam was afraid that they would turn on him and support Rehoboam. So he made two golden calves. The people began to worship the golden calves and they forgot about Jehovah again.
