The Document that said "all men are created equal" and we broke away from the King that did not believe these words
What is the Declaration of Independence?
A Form of Government where States are Sovereign

The type of government where one person typically has all the control.

The Author of the Declaration of Independence
Who is Thomas Jefferson?
The Legislative, Executive and Judicial Branches all have distinct powers so as not to have a tyranny
What is Separation of Powers?
Our first Practice Government where STATES were SOVEREIGN. We could not even raise taxes to pay poor Daniel Shay!
What are the Articles of Confederation?
A form of Government where the power resides in a National Government who makes the decisions for the country
What is a Unitary Government?
The type of government where a FEW people (usually rich) rule

The Courts have the Ultimate Power of declaring laws Constitutional or Unconstitutional
What is Judicial Review?
The Government form when we were under a King (The United Kingdom is still under this form)
What is a Unitary Government?
They type of Government where a King or a Queen Rule like a totalitarian.
What is an Absolute Monarchy?
The Latin term meaning you must have a Body of Evidence to hold someone (typically more than 48hours)
What is Habeas Corpus?
Government has certain powers DELEGATED (enumerated) but the state still has RESERVED powers
What is Limited Government?
The group that Americans should thank because they ensured we had the first 10 Amendments to specifically protect certain rights
Who are the Anti-Federalist?
The European Union forms this type of Government only used for human rights and trade (they use a Euro)
What is a Confederacy?
A type of Government where religious leaders set the laws and expectations on how people will act
What is a Theocracy?
The type of Democracy where the people elect a LEGISLATIVE BRANCH and they then choose a leader (often called a Prime Minister)
