When do we use first conditional?
To talk about possible situations in the present or in the future
Make a zero conditional sentence:
Some people / feel scared / they / watch a horror movie
Some people feel scared if (when) they watch a horror movie
I won't go to classes if I won't feel better tomorrow
I won't go to classes if I DON'T feel better tomorrow
I feel unhealthy because I eat lots of fast food
I would not feel unhealthy if I didn't eat lots of fast food
We might stay at home if it rains.

To talk about unreal (imaginary) situations in the present or in the future
Make a first conditional sentence:
I / win the contest / I / be rich
If I win the contest, I will be rich
If he wake up late, he will miss the bus.
If he WAKES up late, he will miss the bus
I don't know many people because I don't go out much
I would know many people if I went out much
They would buy a bigger house if the had more money.
Second conditional
When do we use third conditional?
To talk about unreal (imaginary) situations in the past
Make a second conditional sentence:
I / win / million dollars / I / buy a car
If I won million dollars, I would buy a car
If he trains a lot, he would be a champion
If he TRAINED a lot, he would be a champion
I was late because I overslept
I would not have been late if I had not overslept
If I were twenty, I would not be studying at school.
Second conditional
What is the difference between zero and first conditional?
Zero conditional is used to talk about the things which are alway true, for example, scientific facts. We can put "when" instead of "if".
First conditional is used to talk about the things which may or may not happen. There is always probability.
Make a second conditional sentence:
I / be / you / I / stop smoking
If I were you, I would stop smoking
If we left earlier, we would have come on time.
If we HAD LEFT earlier, we would have come on time.
I had bad marks at school because I didn't do much homework
I would not have had bad marks at school if I had done my homework
I would not have missed the train if I had got up earlier.
Third conditional

They both are used to talk about UNREAL situations.
The difference is in the tenses: second conditional is used for present or future; third conditional is used for past
Make a third conditional sentence:
He / study / better, he / get this job
If he had studied better, he would have got this job
If the weather had been good, we would go water-skiing
If the weather had been good, we would HAVE GONE water-skiing
I am so tired now because I went to bed late
I wouldn not be so tired now if I had not gone to bed late
