What is the difference between spoiled and melted item issues?
Perishable items (frozen/refrigerated) arrive at a temperature outside the indicated storage temperature and were delivered within 2 transit days.
Consumables arrive expired or past their best by date
Any food item arrives contaminated.
Melted - Temperature related issues for non-perishables, such as Torini syrups or chocolate wafers arriving either frozen or melted. Melted chocolate, while messy, is safe to eat. Be sure to get images of the melted product as well as pictures of packaging. The lot code can be noted in the item issue. If there is no lot code on the product be sure to indicate that in the item issue note.
