AFK
AFK gaming slang/term means away from the keyboard. Typing AFK in-game chat during a match lets your teammates know that you won’t be available to play for a while.

This person prefers sitting in one place, as opposed to continually roaming around the map. This is typically used in online shooters.
Camper
Spells, abilities or special talents that work within the radius of a circle rather than on a specific enemy.

GG gaming slang means good game. Mostly used at the end of online multiplayer matches to let your teammates and opponents know that you had a good game and enjoyed playing with the lot.
Refers to a change that makes a character or weapon more powerful in some way.
Buff
This is what you call a player that gets repeatedly killed by the enemy team, which obviously helps its opponent since a player is dead.
Feeder
Characters, enemies or objects that have disproportionate power compared to others.
OP (Over Powered)
DLC
DLC stands for downloadable content. It refers to any extra elements that you can download separately from the main game, including characters, levels, cosmetics, and similar. DLC sometimes, but not always, comes at an additional cost.
This means that you employ a cheap tactic to complete a task without much trouble. For example, you might repeat a certain powerful combo against your opponent over and over to beat them.
Cheese/Cheesing
Refers to someone who is clearly new at a game. It can be used as an insult (such as when someone makes basic mistakes) but it's not necessarily a pejorative.
Noob
Expresses general randomness, when a player gets lucky or unlucky through the weapons they are given, for example.
RNG (Random Number Generator)
DPS
DPS, which is short for "damage per second," is a measurement for how much damage a particular weapon or attack outputs.

Grind/Grinding
Common character class whose role is generally to suck up damage and make space so their teammates can perform other tasks, like killing the enemy.
Tank/Tanks
This refers to acts that slowly cause damage to a character, such as poisoning or a spell.
DoT (Damage over time)
K/D
K/D, or kill-to-death ratio, is a common measure of your performance in online shooters. It simply divides the number of eliminations you had by the number of times you were eliminated.
Refers to someone getting extremely upset at a game to the point that they immediately stop playing.
Ragequit
This abbreviation refers to a player who is so good at playing the game, and can do it consistently whenever against whoever.
