What is different about copying a quote and creating a revision?

Copying a quote creates a brand new quote which is not connected to the old quote. A revision also creates a new quote, but you are able to view all previous revisions from that quote.

The quote encompasses multiple quote items. The quote contains costing/pricing for all of the parts, whereas each quote item addresses one individual part.

Somebody on your team clicks on the “Preview” button after a quote has been sent out. What will happen to the “Last Viewed” graphic for that outstanding quote?

Nothing. Previewing a quote doesn't count as a view.

What happens if you mark a part as ITAR?

It adds a banner to the part in the parts library and removes all part data from the quote. We really should get that into the KB - good callout.

You need to send a PDF to an external vendor to get a finishing quote, but there is sensitive information about the customer on the file. What should you do?

Redact the sensitive information and send the redacted version.

300

How can you tell whether or not a customer can see notes that you leave on the quote?

The eyeball icon

300

How can I tell where my teammate was in the platform when they left a collaboration message?

If you hover over an annotation, a button will appear in the top right corner that will take you to wherever your teammate was when they left their message.

So, if a part can be found in quote 5 and quote 9 but my teammate leaves me a message from quote 9, I can get context for their annotation by hovering over the collaboration and clicking in the top right corner.

Kind of a tricky one but important because just clicking on the collaboration alert will take you directly to the part, not necessarily the context of the message itself.

Your customer has a portal and is requesting a quote for 40 different line items. What’s a quick way to download all of that information locally once you’re done quoting it in Paperless?

Any 2 of the following are acceptable:

What is the main advantage of annotating a measurement in Paperless, even if it’s just a note for yourself?

The annotation is saved and associated with the part forever, and will be available in the future if you ever quote a matching part or need to look it up for reference.

(Compare this to highlighting something on a piece of paper)

Name two ways that you can quickly cost multiple assembly components. What are the main differences between the two methods?

Copy pricing and bulk assign process. Copy pricing will take the process, material, and overrides from one component and bring it over to a recipient part/component. Bulk updating a process would allow you to assign 15 components as 5-axis at the same time, but not with any overrides.

How should you talk about runtime calculations for a CNC part? Why is this different from sheet metal?

Something along the lines of CNC is more of an art, whereas sheet metal is a science. Sheet metal run times can be much more exact, whereas CNC run times can vary greatly depending on who's running the machine, what tool they chose to use, etc.
