Why does Allah discourage us from Idle talk?
Even though there is nothing inherently wrong with idle talk it can lead to backbiting, slandering, lying or other things that will make us sinful.
The prophet (saw) was known to be silent for longs periods of time, he would only speak when there was something of value to add. He would not engage in idle talk.
Why are human beings considered superior to angels?
Angels have not been given the same level of knowledge as us. Allah (Swt) taught Adam (As) names that he did not teach his other creations.
Also, Angels do not have free will like us, they must obey what Allah (swt) commands them.
