Center for Diversity and Inclusion

  • Provides emotional, social, and financial support to students from historically underrepresented communities (i.e students of color, LGBTQIA+ students, first-generation college students, etc) 

  • Collaborates with campus partners to foster a learning environment that respects multiple perspectives and differences through diversity clubs, workshops, training, student resources, and cultural programming. 

  • There are eight diversity clubs of the CDI are African Union Club, Asian American Student Alliance, Black Student Union, Latinx Student Alliance, Native American Student Association, Pacific Islander Student Association, Pride and Equity Club, and Undoc Migrant Alliance. 

  • The wide array of workshops and trainings we offer include--but are not limited to--Grad Skool Workshop: CV’s, SOP’s, and GRE’s; Know Your Rights Workshop; Creating Inclusive Community; Explaining Privilege; UndocuAlly Workshop, and Allyship: Time to Get Involved. 

  • Some of the student resources we provide are advising, departmental scholarships, study/lounge space, diversity club spaces, and resources for undocumented students, staff, and community members.

Student Involvement and Leadership Center (STIL)

  • Exists to help all students get involved, make connections, and develop the leadership skills necessary to succeed beyond the classroom and after college. 

  • STIL hosts weekly events as well as many initiatives that help students become connected, and find their place at SUU. 

  • We have hosted 367 clubs, and are always working to make sure the list is up to date and accurate. 

  • We can complete a personalized involvement roadmap with you as we have done for over 100 students. 

  • We host opportunities for clubs, student government, marketing, events, and leadership with over 200 students directly involved with our office, and opportunities for many more. Applications for these offices open in April.
