How is a curl created?
A curl is created by the following three components: base, stem and curl
What is Rhythm?
Rhythm creates the relationship between movement or motion and the lines of a pattern
What is Balance?
Balance is the visual comparison of weight used to offset or equalize proportion.
What are single lines when Styling?
Single lines are used for controlling the movement within the design.
What is Elevation?
Elevation in hair design is equal to height or how much the hair design is lifted off of the scalp.
What is base?
Base is the portion of hair that is attached to the scalp between 2 partings.
What is Symmetry?
Symmetry is described as a mirror image from a center point.
What is Form?
Form is a combination of lines that outline a shape.
What are multiple lines when Styling?
Multiple lines are the combination of various single lines that represent numerous directions within the design
What does setting the design mean?
Setting the design is the application of a tool (pincurl, roller or thermal iron) within the section or shape
What is the stem?
Stem is the section of a curl between the base and the first turn of the curl.
What is Repetition?
Repetition is how often the lines, angles, colors, textures or patterns are repeated in sequence within a design.
What is Emphasis?
Emphasis, also known as the Focal Point of a hairdesign
What are Disconnected Lines in Styling?
Disconnected lines are independent lines that normally do not blend, creating an inflexible edge.
What is Shaping mean?
Shaping, also known as Molding.
