Yes, you shouldn't be paying for anything out of pocket (even if they say you'll be reimbursed). A legitimate employer will send you equipment themselves and it's not common for an offer letter to talk about equipment.

Yesss and call them too, 50% of CJ students land jobs through recruiters. Are they all a joy to work with? No. But please don't stand in your own way.
