This type of bone is typically longer than they are wide, mostly compact bone. Make up all bones of the limbs besides the wrist and ankle.

This is a bone forming cell.

This is what secures the periosteum to the diaphysis.
What are Sharpey's/perforating fibers?
This type of bone tissue appears smooth and homogenous.
What is compact bone?
This is the cavity that stores yellow bone marrow.
What is the medullary cavity?
This type of bone is thin, flattened, and usually curved. Have two layers of compact bone that sandwich a layer of spongy bone. Most bones of the skull, ribs, and sternum are this type of bone.
What are flat bones?
This is a bone destroying cell.
What is an osteoclast?
A layer of cartilage within the epiphysis, causing the lengthwise growth of long bone.
What is the epiphyseal plate?
This type of bone tissue is composed of small needlelike pieces of bone and lots of open space.
What is spongy bone?
This is what makes the blood cells within the bone.
What is red bone marrow?
This type of bone doesn't fit one of the previous 3 categories. I.E. vertebrae and hip bones.
What are irregular bones?
This is the matrix in which osteocytes are located.

This gives the bone blood and nutrients.
What is the nutrient artery?
This is what covers the epiphyses.
What is articular cartilage?
These bones are a special type of short bones that form within tendons. I.E. Patella
These are the concentric circles in which the lacunae are arranged in.
What is the lamellae?
The central canal of bone combined with lacuna, lamella, and osteocytes forms this.
