What is the north arrow?
Also called a site plan, a drawings that calls out such things as property lines, sidewalks, driveways, fences, patios, utilities, easements, trees, etc.
What is a plot plan?
Lines defining the limits of the building plat or piece of land.
What are the property lines?
The phrase used to describe the north arrow when turned to fit the drawing on the page to simply the drawings.
Lines on a drawing that identify the ground elevations and how quickly or slowly the slope changes.
What are contour lines?
A area of land marked for use of utilities, usually on the edge of someone's property that you maintain but have to be clean of obstructions.
What are easements?
A permanent marker of a known elevation used for purposes of surveying.
What is a benchmark?
A system of classifying or dividing land areas for specific area or use and restricts the kind of structures that can be built.
What is zoning?
Location and elevations of features. Natural objects such as trees, shrubs, or man-made objects such as utilities poles or railroad tracks that depicted with common symbols.
What is topography?
A specified minimum distance between the building and the property lines set forth in building codes.
