Once you've set up a customer's new Budget Plan, What are some key points to cover with them?

  • The new budget plan amount will start on the first of the next month and show on their next month’s bill (be careful of language here - the customer’s next bill might be later this month! It’s safer to specify which month).
  • They must provide regular meter readings (if they don’t have a smart meter)
  • The Budget plan will be automatically reviewed in 12 months. It will then increase or decrease in line with their usage over the same period.
  • They must keep track of whether they are in credit or debit on their monthly bill. They can get in touch at any time if they'd like to review the budget plan before the 12 months.
