Who is the Director?
-Responsible for making sure you can see the actors.
-Helps set the MOOD and TONE for a scene.
Used when a character is speaking in a scene but does not actually appear on the screen.
What is OFF SCREEN?

What is the Cast?
Committee of technicians who work behind the scenes creating the scenery, props, and so on.
What is the Crew?
Outfits, including accessories and undergarments, worn by an actor in a production.

Who is the Technical Director?
Creates atmosphere through sound.
Who is the Audio/Sound Designer?
Used when a character or narrator’s voice can be heard talking from some unknown place.
What is a VOICE OVER?
Taking down the set following the conclusion of a play’s production run.
What is Strike?
Rehearsals emphasizing the performance of the production’s technical elements– prop changes, scenery shifts, light changes, sound effects, etc.
What is the Technical Rehearsal or Tech?
The text the playwright gives the actor to work from.
What is a Script?
-Communicates with director and technical director.
-Oversees all technical crews DURING PERFORMANCE.
-“Calls” the show.
-Is responsible for the smooth running of the show.
Who is the Stage Manager?
Designs the costumes for a production and creates the world of the play through clothing.
Who is the Costume Designer?
These are used to give specific description of movement, gesture, or method of delivery in a screenplay.
What are Parentheticals?
All the actors who are not the principal players.
What is the Ensemble?
A front view of the set (looking from the audience); should be to “scale”
What is Elevation View?
A floorplan of the set showing where basic lighting and any special lighting is placed in the theatre. Should also include a list of what lights are turned on and off and where the switches are located.
What is a Lighting Plot?
-Decides and/or approves what play will be done.
-Chooses production team.
-MOST IMPORTANTLY: Responsible for the budget.

Person in charge of the props for a production.
