 Fiction. It stands for Mars and Murrie.It’s named after the company’s two founders: Forrest Mars and Bruce Murrie. Forrest Mars Sr., son of the Mars Company founder, Frank C. According to golf folklore, it was coined by a group of American golfers who found a bird's nest with eggs while playing at Atlantic City Country Club.
