Please describe the process of how a bill becomes a law.

A bill is first sponsored, submitted, and reported on the House or Senate floor. It is then referred to a relevant committee, debated and revised, and then returned to the chamber floor for general debate and a vote. When it passes, it is then sent to the other chamber of congress, where the process is repeated. Once it has been passed by both chambers of Congress, it is signed by the President to become a law, or in the case of a veto, re-passed by a 2/3rds majority.
