Michelle found out that she was pregnant. She was super excited because it was her first child.  Michelle called a friend who shared her excitement, but immediately informed her that it may be best to stop taking her mental health medication and Vivitrol.  After further thoughts, decided to stop taking all medications then made an appointment for prenatal care.  Did Michelle respond appropriately? What decision did she make that could impact her recovery?

No,

It is best practice to have discussion with primary physician, mental health provider, and/or nurse before making medication changes.

While stopping medication appeared appropriate, it could protentional cause further harm by increasing cravings and mental health symptoms.
