What is during passing period.  Only bathroom emergencies are to occur during class time.

How the Chromebook cart should look like at the end of the period

What is organized.  All Chromebooks in their correct spot, plugged in (the plug cord is always on the left of your Chromebook slot), and ready for the next class.

The way I behave in class

What is kind and respectful.  I respect everyone and everything in the room.  I am attentive when the teacher is speaking.  I listen to my classmates and contribute to the group work.

The way I borrow a pencil

What is writing my name on a magnetic person and taking the pencil next to it.  All pencils borrowed must be returned before the end of the period.  Also erase your name off the magnetic person to show you returned your pencil.

The way groups are formed

What is randomly.  Group work will be in random formed groups. Some days you will be with friends' other days not.  You are expected to work kindly with EVERYONE.

What is passing period.  Please make sure you come to class prepared and ready to learn.

What is on the bookshelf at the front of the room under your period label.  Books should be organized placed with the bind facing out.

The place groups meet

What is at white boards or by moving desk together. Groups will either be on vertical white boards or working together at desks.  You may move the desk around to form a cluster so everyone can participate.

What is passing period.  You should have everything you need, pencils, binder, and notebook before you walk into the classroom.

The procedure for putting away my smartboard

What is clean and stacked nearly in the bin near the flag.  All erasers and smartboards should be put away before the bell rings.

What I do when I am in the classroom before the bell rings

What is follow the directions on the board.  99% of the days there will be bell work and instructions on the board.  It is expected that when you enter the classroom, you get settled and start working.

The procedure for borrowing other supplies

What is the classroom supply bucket on the front counter.  You may borrow an eraser, highlighter, lead from there.  All supplies (except lead) must be returned before you leave the class period.

What is TOGETHER!  Everyone should be contributing and learning.

The time to go to the nurse

What is an emergency.  The nurse is for emergencies.  If you have a headache it is asked that you take 10 sips of water, 10 deep breaths, and wait 10 minutes before you ask to go to the nurse.

The way the desk should look before the bell rings

What is in straight rows and columns. We do a lot of group work with desk moving around the room, but all desk must be returned to the 6 columns and 5 rows.

The procedure if I have an emergency and need to leave the classroom

What is ask permission and sign out.  You always need to ask permission to leave the classroom.  You also need to sign out and take a pass.

Where do I get paper for notes

What is the back table.  There will always be lined, graph and several different note taking options for you to choose from.  Any notes you take may be used on test.

The way to know when our group needs to stop and pay attention to Mrs. Elslager

What is when Mrs. Elslager says "Waterfall".

Every student should immediately stop and say "SHHHHHH"

The place I get a band aide, if needed

What is the first drawer by the sink.  The drawer is labeled HEALTH and has a box of band aids.  Most issues can be handled in the classroom and the nurse is not needed.

When do I leave the classroom

What is once the bell has rung and the classroom is clean and ready for the next group of students.  We will not leave until all Chromebooks are plugged in, all math books are stacked nearly on the shelf, all desk are straightened and all supplies are returned.

What is off limits. My desk, supplies and computer are off limits to students.

What is for YOU!  You may use any of the supplies in the drawers at the front of the room.  Please return all supplies before the end of the class.  Please be kind and gentle to these supplies they have to last us all year.

How to end group work

What is fix the desk, clean off your vertical whiteboard, put away Expo markers, and return to your assigned seat.
