Collard shirt (with our logo), Blue, black or khaki and closed toes shoes.

Phones should be powered off and in your backpack.

What should you bring everyday to the retail stores?

Pack your lunch!! Students on campus including part time workers will get lunch at school for free. Students working at the hotels also get free lunch at work. Students working at the stores must bring their lunch.

How should you treat someone if they made a mistake?

Always offer encouragement. Never laugh at someone for making a mistake...at least they are trying!!

What should you do if you are going to be late or absent?

Call your job coach, teacher or front desk.

When can you be on your phone or any electronics?

Before school starts, at lunch and while you are waiting for your ride to arrive at the end of the day. Also, if your teacher permits cell phone use for instructional purposes.

Hazard: a danger or risk. An example would be leaving a spill unattended on the floor.

What can happen if you tap someone while "playing around"?

"Play" hitting or tapping can quickly get out of control and someone could get hurt. Keep your hands to yourself.

Get their permission first.

What type of pants are NOT permitted at our school or worksites?

Blue jeans or short shorts.

What should you do if you are on your phone at lunchtime and you have a low battery?

Stop using your phone so you have enough battery for your ride home. You can not charge your phone at school.

Why should you not go outside of your worksite without permission from your job coach?

The job coach needs to know where the students are at all times and it could be dangerous (busy parking lot, etc.).

How should you treat someone that you don't really like?

Always be respectful. You don't have to be best friends but you need to be cordial (professional, respectful).

Name a problem that could arise if you tell your teacher/job coach that you are going to the bathroom but really go somewhere else.

If there is an emergency (fire, code red, etc) and the teacher goes to find you and you aren't there, you could get hurt or trapped in the building.

Should you call your teacher/job coach before or after school hours just to chat? Why or why not?

No. Staff have families and are not available just to chat (especially on group chats).

What would you do if a customer asks you a question and you don't know the answer?

Ask another employee or manager for the correct answer so you can give the customer the correct information.

When is it okay to interrupt a conversation?

It is okay to interrupt when there is an emergency.  Start by saying, "Excuse me but there is an emergency". Do not interrupt to ask about lunch.

Fortify Florida is an app you can install on your phone to report any suspicious activity.

What do you wear when we go on outings?

You do not have to wear your uniform!! You can't wear jeans with holes, t-shirts with writing or anything that exposes skin (crop tops, etc.).

What are the 3 steps if you get caught on your phone?

1st offence: Verbal warning

2nd offence: Teacher/job coach takes your phone and will give it back at the end of the day.

3rd offence: Dr. Chris can take your phone and hold it until the end of the school year.

What does it mean to "take initiative"?

Initiative: Know what has to be done at work and doing it. Don't wait to be told to do something when you know it has to be done.

How can you respect someone's boundaries and personal space?

Do not ask questions that are too personal. They may not want to discuss things with you or where other people can hear your conversation. Stand about an arms length away.
