This stream combines Zionism and Orthodox Judaism. Proponents believe that "Eretz Israel" (the Land of Israel) was promised to the ancient Israelites by God. As such, modern Jews have the obligation to possess and defend the land in ways that comport with the Torah's high standards of justice.

This stream aimed to work the land to create a socialist communal model of society — Kibbutzim were created as a result.
