What is the Valley of Cuzco?
This consist of tribes, language families, and culture areas.
What are the three classified Indian groups?
These were North American Indians known for their large burial mounds and effigy mounds.
What were the Mound Builders?
Cities that endeavored to become the center of power and influence.
What are Tikal and Chichen Itza?
These specific people used an extensive road system consisting of up to 14,000 miles of roads and bridges and was developed by the Incas.
What did the Inca ruler, his entourage, the army, and government officials have the power to do?
The Indians varied in these two things.
What is size and complexity?
This was a famous effigy mound in southern Ohio.
What is the Great Serpent Mound?
An Aztec city built on an island in the middle of a lake in central Mexico.
What is Tenochtitlan?
These were constructed by the Incas every 8-15 miles along the road and were supplied with fuel and provisions.
What are shelters?
These Indians often lived in small villages consisting of two or three family groups or clans.
Who were the Pueblo Indians?
This Indian culture broadly covered the central Mississippi River Valley and extended to the Ohio River Valley and south to parts of Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, and Mississippi.
Who were the Mississippian?
Tributes in the form of gold, maize, cacao beans, cotton, and jade.
What did the Aztecs and their allies demand?
This system alerted officials of danger, rebellion, and other time-sensitive information.
What is a system of runners?
These were foods grown by the Indians.
What is corn, beans, pumpkins, and squashes?
This American Indian civilization developed in the Southeast and along the Atlantic coast into the Northeast.
Who were the Eastern Woodlands Indians?
Formed the nobility in the Aztec empire.
What influence did the Aztec government officials, priests, and military leaders have?
Collections of knotted strings used for accounting and recording data.
What was a quipu?
