If a boy was looking at a girl while she was leaving the room and that she turned around that meant they liked each other. But if the girl turned around and the boy wasn’t looking that means that she got rejected. And if a girl didn’t turn around while a boy was looking then he got rejected.

They used booshum not only as a treat but also for medical purposes to clean the blood and keep the digestive system regular.

Why did Bev want to become a nurse when she would grow up?

The reason why Bev wanted to  become a nurse when she would grow up is because she admired Miss Castello, a nurse, for her kindness towards Bev but also to everyone else. She would comfort Bev and be there for her when she was lonely and needed someone. Therefore, it made Bev want to be like Miss castello.

Gram despises alcohol so much because she saw the destruction it caused to her loved ones. A lot of Aboriginals were violent under its influence  and even went to the point of killing themselves so it normal she despite’s it and banned it in her household to protect her loved ones.

 He was the only member staff at the mission who stood up with next to the kids against all the abuse they were receiving, he even stood up in court next to the students when father O’Connor was charged and convicted for many sexual charges.

Because she was trained throughout her childhood in the Mission that she was inferior.
