We use this reading strategy to get a more complete/full understanding of the text, after you have skimmed the text to get an overview.

It means that it is a common language for people who do not speak one another's native language.
Lingua franca
It means being proud of your work.
Professional pride
It means to live in a way that our everyday lives and working lives do not affect the environment in a negative way.
To live sustainably, sustainable living, sustainable lifestyles
It means that we are judging someone before we know them.
Prejudice ("pre" means "before", and we can almost see "judge" in the word as well)
Mind maps, Venn diagrams, comparing information (pros and cons) are some examples.
