When the sample doesn't accurately reflect the characteristics of the population being studied. This can happen if certain groups are excluded from the sampling process
Undercoverage
A teacher has a class of 30 students. She needs to select five students at random for a group project. She puts all the students names 1 time each into a hat and selects 5 blindly.

Response Bias
