Pool Access & Supervision
This must be done at the front desk before using the pool.
What is check in?
These must be worn by those not potty-trained. No cloth or disposable ones are allowed.
What are swim diapers?
You cannot use the pool unless this staff member is on duty.

Only these types of flotation devices are allowed in the pool.
What are Coast Guard - approved devices?
Food and drink (except water) must be consumed in these locations.
What are designated areas like the lobby or outdoors?
Children under this height must have an adult in the water within arm’s reach.

These flotation devices are not allowed unless they are Coast Guard - approved and secure.
What are inflatable floatation devices?
Lifeguards can require this test before you swim in deep water.
What is a swim test?
These fun items like diving rings and toy torpedoes must be used with care.
What are pool toys?
Only staff and approved contractors are allowed to do this.
What is coach or give instruction?
This is the minimum age someone can use the facility alone.
What is 15 years old?
This item is never allowed on the pool deck, because if it shatters and gets into the water, the pool must be fully drained.
What is glass?
This is never allowed be patrons on the pool deck because it can block the lifeguard's view or obstruct their ability to make a rescue.
What is pacing, walking laps, or standing at the edge of the pool?
Kickboards and pull buoys are only to be used by these kind of swimmers.
What are adults in water exercise and adult/children in instructional use only?
These items are not allowed to be used in locker rooms due to privacy concerns.
What are cell phones?
Number of children under 48" allowed per adult in the pool.
What is 2?
These behaviors, such as running, roughhousing, or sitting on shoulders, are not allowed.
What is horseplay or rough play?
This heard or seen by a lifeguard will temporarily close the pool for 30 mins after each instance.
What is thunder or lightning?
This popular item used as a flotation device is not for children to use but can be brought by the swimmer.
What is a noodle?
This substance often chewed is not allowed in the pool.
What is gum?
Children aged 12-14 can use the pool without an adult only if they can do this in the lap lanes.
What is swim 300 yards continuously?
You may only do this activity into the deep end of the lap pool.
What is diving?
This team has the final say on all safety matters in the facility.
What is MAFC staff?
This activity is very dangerous and doesn't require a toy or equipment to become risky.
What is breath holding?
This is what you must do with fitness equipment after use.
