What steps should be taken if a camper or staff member is feeling sick?



  • Individuals must stay home until they are fever-free and symptoms have improved for at least 24 hours (or 48 hours for vomiting/diarrhea).

  • Campers may swim in the deep end only if approved by City of Toronto lifeguards and after passing a deep-end test. RBI:SE staff cannot allow deep-end swimming without lifeguard approval.

  • The Ontario Ministry of Health recommends that individuals wear a high-quality, well-fitted mask in public (including school, camp, and childcare) for 10 days after symptoms begin.

The RBI Summer Edition staff contract does not include vacation days. The expectation of all staff is that

you are available to attend every day of training and every day of camp.

RBI Summer Edition staff must travel with a fully stocked First Aid Kit, staff handbook or site binder, anda camper list with relevant medical and emergency contact information.

What are some facility responsibilities staff must adhere to? 

-Ensure that children are never left unsupervised in any buildings.

-Ensure that the facility (including the washrooms, classroom, and the play areas) are kept clean and supplies are stored appropriately.

• Clean all program spaces at the end of every program and inspect them each day.

• Notify Site Manager of any hazardous materials, damage, accident, or loss that occurs in their facility.
