What is SEP Chronic?
These are the type of plans you can switch from and to during OEP.
What are from one Medicare Advantage plan to another, from Medicare Advantage back to original Medicare, or enrolling into a standalone PDP coming from an MA plan?
If you enroll in Medicare during the 3 months BEFORE your 65th birthday, your coverage begins on this month.
What is your birthday month?
You would use this election period if you were disenrolled from a CSNP due to not being verified and the end of the second month on plan.
What is SEP Special Need Chronic?
This Election Period is no longer available for MAPD plans, but still available for PDPs.
What is Dual/LIS Maintaining?
My plan is no longer offered for my area. This is the Election Period I should use.
What is SEP Contract Non Renewal?
You're eligible to use the OEP election if you are enrolled in this type of plan on January 1st.
What is a Medicare Advantage plan?
If you enroll during the month you turn 65, your coverage begins at this time.
What is the following month?
You would use this election period if you delayed enrolling into Part B 3 months or more from your Part A start date.
What is ICEP Delayed Part B?
This Election Period can only be used to disenroll from a PDP if a client maintains other types of creditable coverage, such as VA or TRICARE For Life.
What is SEP Eligible for Other Creditable Coverage ?
I could not enroll at the proper time due to a FEMA declared weather-related emergency or a major disaster. This is the Election Period I should use.
What is SEP Government Declared Disaster?
If you are enrolled in these type of plans, you may not use the OEP election.
What are PDPs, Med Supps, and some state Medicare-Medicaid plans?
This is the number of months you can choose an effective date in advance of losing employer coverage using the SEP Loss of EGHP.

This election allows enrollment once per month into a Fully Integrated Dual Eligible SNP (FIDE), Highly Integrated Dual Eligible SNP (HIDE), or Applicable Integrated Plan (AIP) for full benefit dually eligible individuals who are enrolled in, or are in the process of enrolling in, the D-SNP’s affiliated Medicaid Managed Care Organization (MCO) to align enrollment.
What is SEP Integrated Care?
This Election Period can only be used for PDPs and is for consumers who dropped a Medigap policy to enroll into an MA-PD plan for the first time and who are still in a “Trial Period” .
