This is the right of all individuals & communities to access, produce, and consume nourishing food, regardless of their race, class, gender, or other social factors. 

It encompasses the transformation of food systems to eliminate inequalities, promote sustainability, and work with communities to lead change, moving beyond traditional charity-based models.

Going on it's 23rd year, this is the largest (in revenue) & busiest Food Bank event.

This party recognized that food insecurity was a barrier to education and a symptom of systemic inequalities. They understood that food was fundamental to children's well-being and ability to learn. In 1969 they launched their Free Breakfast for Children program in Oakland, later expanding it across 36 cities in the US.

Last year, over 12k of these community members (aka stakeholders) served > 90k hours of service, helping to distribute 56+ million pounds of food; which about half was fresh produce and vegetables.

ACCFB launched this program in 2012 with a dual purpose of reducing food waste and food insecurity, and in 2012 recovered over 12 million pounds of groceries that was distributed to partner agencies.
