Every pt, every time, at a minimum
What are some ways to prevent falls?
Lighting, clear pathways, bed at the lowest position, hourly rounding, anti skid footwear
What is acute care?
Sudden, serious, time sensitive care

Improper or illegal use of a person's money, possessions, or other assets
When are enteric precautions used?
Pt. with C. diff
Includes: gloves, gown, hand washing No hand sanitizer!

Health care setting for terminally ill patients?
Hospice- pts have 6 months or less to live and do not receive any life sustaining treatment (antibiotics, tube feeds, ect.)

Advocate for residents and helps settle disputes
What is an example of promoting client rights?
Provide privacy, pt choosing when to get dresses, what to wear, what to eat, who to see, when to complete tasks
What do droplet precautions include?
Gloves, gown (sometimes), mask, face shield/goggles
What is the purpose of using proper body mechanics (ergonomics)?
Save energy and prevent injury

To ensure workers have a safe and healthful workplace
