What does the passive voice communicate?
The passive voice communicates that the subject receives the action.
Put a sentence in the active voice into the passive voice:
John eats the pasta.
The pasta is eaten by John.
Now we're going to practise with some different sentences:
I clean the flat every Saturday.
The flat is cleaned by me every Saturday.
What do we mean by the "official language" of a country?
By the "official language"..., we mean the language that is used by the government and in schools in countries where a number of different languages are spoken.
Do you think life will be discovered on other planets within the next hundred years?
Yes, I think...~ No, I don't think
How do we form the passive voice?Give me some examples, please.
We form the passive voice with the verb "to be" and a past participle.
My car was washed last month. ~ Many computers are made in China.~ The students will be taught by the teacher

The pasta was eaten by John.
She forgot him.
He was forgotten by her.
Is a car likely to be stolen if it's kept inside a locked garage?
No, a car isn't likely to...; it's unlikely to be stolen.
Have you ever been blown off your feet by the wind?
Yes, I've been... ~No, I've never been...
When do we use the present perfect continuous tense?
Give me an example.
We use the present perfect continuous to say how long an action has been in progress so far.
For example: "I have been living in this house for six months so far".

The pasta has been eaten by John.
Miss Jones is going to teach the chemistry lesson.
The chemistry lesson is going to be taught by Miss Jones.
Why is it that a football team playing at home usually scores more goals than when playing away?
