How many days of educational leave do you get on your anniversary?

5 days on your seniority date.

After 1 year of service, regular status members (PT and FT, 20h/wk and above) are eligible for prorated education leave to help with professional development. You receive 5 paid days (40h) per year for FT that “recharge” on your seniority date. Education leave must be requested in advance and granted by management, you may be required to provide proof of completion. Education leave can roll over for one year beyond accrual, up to 10 days in the bank for FT and 6 for PT.

The costs for any of the courses, programs, training, etc that we may take via education leave can be covered by KP tuition assistance up to $3000 per year, up to $750 of which can go to travel or lodging expenses.

  • The care for a child, spouse, or parent who has a serious health condition,

  • Reasons related to a family member’s service in the military, including
    • Qualifying exigency leave - Leave for certain reasons related to a family member’s foreign deployment, and
