a situation requiring a choice between equally undesirable alternatives

a person who speaks up or takes action to oppose unjust behavior or practices instead of remaining quietly passive

includes those people who that society believes deserve respect and whose rights it believes are worthy of protection

usually involving the idea that one's own race is superior and has the right to dominate others or that a particular racial group is inferior to the others
