Finding your calm

Get comfy in your seat and close your eyes.  Take three deep breaths, breathing out slowly each time.  One. Two. Three.    Now think of a place where you feel relaxed and happy.  It could be a place you've been before or a place you make up in your mind.  Pretend you are in that place.  Notice things you can see, the things you can hear, the things you can touch, the things you can smell, and the things you can taste.  Notice how you feel in this calm place.

Eagles have a wide, majestic wing span that helps them glide quickly from place to place.

To move quickly from anxious or angry to calm and collected, imagine yourself as an eagle, your arms as wings.

First, stand with your wings down by your sides. Breathe in, calmly sweep your wings up to the sky. Breathe out, slowly sweep your wings back down, feeling the air pressing against them.

Keep sweeping up and then down 5-10x.

As you move, you might want t o close your eyes and imagine you are soaring over your favorite nature spot - maybe the forest, a park, or the ocean.

Nicely remind yourself - "All of myemotions, no matter how scary they may seem, are safe here."

Hold until you feel yourself relaxing.
