Done In A Days
Members on the Community Council help plan our DIADs, a couple hour volunteer shifts. They coordinate with the community partner and help with internal marketing of the event!
T-shirts, tote bags, hats, oh my! This fun internal fundraiser happens typically once a year.

This beloved tradition combines League pride with fundraising! You'll help design exclusive JLA merchandise that members can purchase to show their support. The campaign raises necessary funds while creating unity and visibility. Council members collaborate on merchandise selection, pricing strategies, promotion, and distribution. It's a creative way to strengthen our financial position while boosting member pride.

As Engagement Chair, you'll be the creative force behind keeping our members active and enthusiastic! This role involves analyzing participation trends, planning activities that foster meaningful connections, and making sure no one falls through the cracks. You'll have the opportunity to implement innovative strategies that boost retention and satisfaction. Perfect for someone who enjoys building community and developing creative solutions!
Each September during National Diaper Bank Awareness Week, we host an awareness and fundraising campaign.
Dollars for Diapers
This event is all hands on deck for our Community Council! From planning diaper drop off sites to posting on social media, all members get to participate!
From happy hours to leadership workshops, planning these engaging activities is a key function of the Membership Council. Hint: Our two most recent ones included cake and wine tasting, and a focus on mental health!
Socials and trainings
The fun part of membership! You'll help plan diverse events that strengthen connections between members while providing valuable skills development. These range from purely social gatherings to professional development opportunities. Council members brainstorm creative event concepts, secure venues, arrange speakers, and ensure these gatherings meet member needs. This aspect allows you to exercise your creativity while developing valuable event planning experience.
This lead is our Member Essentials guru! She focuses on making our external URL fresh and keeping the backend operating.
Website Lead
We need a new Website Lead! This person is highly encouraged to proactively keep our external webite updated and work closely with the councils - event attend their meetings. This role is best suited for a more experienced Leaguer who is a go getter and ok working alone!

Diaper Bank
Members of the Community Council help collect, sort, package, and distribute diapers. These can be done as a team in meetings, or at time in individual or pairs..
The Membership Council creates this special curriculum designed to educate and introduce newcomers into League history and culture.

The foundation of every successful League member's journey! You'll help design and implement the educational components that transform newcomers into knowledgeable, confident participants. This includes history lessons, training on League protocols, and introduction to our community impact areas. Council members develop materials, facilitate sessions, and ensure consistent quality across the entire program. Your contribution shapes the future of our organization!
The is a new leadership position sitting under Community, taking charge of our biggest diaper bank awareness and fundraising event each Fall.
Dollars for Diapers Lead
We are looking for an excited member looking to hone in on their event coordination and marketing efforts and passion for our diaper bank. Have no fear! Your VP has run this event for several years with lots of procedures to follow and you have a whole council behind you to help.
This JLA effort ranges from informal education on diapers to helping politicians with bills eliminating diaper tax.

JLA's diaper advocacy has taken on more of an informal role, but is still critical to the success of our Diaper Bank! Community Council members should take an opportunity to educate others about diaper need and the mission of the JLA Diaper Bank.

We are looking for a new social media lead! This person is highly encouraged to attend events, take pictures and work closely with the councils - event attend their meetings. This role is best suited for a more experienced Leaguer who may need to step back for a year or even lives far!

Givebacks/mini fundraisers
Givebacks are when restaurants or places of business donate back a portion of their proceeds for a day/evening to our organization. We're currently planning one for next year with Slice & Dice! These events allow us to raise funds in fun, low-pressure ways while building community partnerships. Council members help coordinate logistics, promote the events, and build relationships with local businesses.
