After earning Honorable Mention All-State accolades as a senior in 1999 for Fitzgerald, COACH enrolled at Grand Rapids Community College. He played two seasons at GRCC and earned his associates degree in May of 2002.
As a freshman at GRCC in 2000, COACH rushed for a team-high eight touchdowns on just 41 carries, while playing in nine of the 10 contests. He also had one kickoff return and finished second on the team in scoring. In 2001, Garland played in the final seven contests for the Raiders, making five starts. He totaled 40 tackles (17-23), including nine for loss and one sack.
COACH played in eight games, starting four times for William Penn University (in Oskaloosa, Iowa) in 2003. He recorded 38 tackles (24-14), including a season-best nine stops (3-6) vs. St. Francis (Ill.). Both of his tackles for loss were against Quincy. COACH also totaled four pass break-ups and two quarterback hurries.

AYDIN JOHNSON
graduated from Michigan State in 2016 with a bachelor's degree in Pyscholgy prior to earning a master's degree in Business Administration from Central Michigan in 2019.
During his undergrad years in East Lansing, COACH spent two years as a defensive student assistant coach, before serving as the defensive coordinator and linebackers coach at Dearborn Fordson High School in both 2017 and 2022. In between, he spent two seasons (2018 and 2019) as a defensive graduate assistant coach at Colorado State University working with the defensive backs and linebackers. Saleh served as the special teams coordinator and defensive backs coach for two years (2020 and 2021) at Madonna University.
He has participated in two NFL Bill Walsh Coaching Fellowships (San Francisco 49ers in 2021 and Green Bay Packers in 2024). After his second stint at Fordson, COACH spent the 2023 campaign as the safeties coach at Northern Michigan.

COACH accepted a scholarship from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and played in 10 games at defensive tackle as a true freshman in 2012. He earned a spot on the C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll. The next two seasons (2013 and 2014), COACH was the starting left guard for the Blazers.
After UAB ended its football program, COACH transferred to Georgia Southern University in the spring of 2014. He was a starter and a member of the 2015 GoDaddy Bowl championship team, the first bowl win in school history. He then transferred back to UAB and graduated in 2017 with a degree in history.

While at NDC, he helped lead the Falcons to three consecutive Mountain East Conference titles and coached three all-conference players including Tabyus Taylor (MEC Offensive Player of the Year and First Team All-MEC in Spring 2021), Tyris Dickerson (Second Team in Fall 2021) and Idris Lawrence (Second Team in 2022).
He began his coaching career as a student assistant at WMU from 2015-2019. During his tenure with the Broncos, WMU won the 2016 Mid-American Conference championship and competed in the Cotton Bowl.
