What matters more in this art room: effort or perfection?

Effort!

We are all here to learn and practice and grow... there is no such thing as "perfect" in the art room.

100

True or False: Ms Easton loves the chair scooching noise and when the room gets super loud

FALSE!

*Ms. Easton has ADHD and sounds like the chair scooching, yelling and overall loudness make it very hard for me to focus and can make me feel very overwhelmed. Please be respectful to everyone in the room who can get overwhelmed by sounds :)

200

Where are pencils, erasers and rulers?

In clear buckets on the black shelf next to the storage room door. The buckets are labeled and have signs above them

ONE wipe per table...more can be handed out if its a messy day, but one wipe to start is how we roll in here

Please keep comments and questions related to what we are talking about at that time in class :)

On the counter by the sink and in the window sill near blue table

How many "Mississippi" counts should you do if you're washing your hands in the art room?

Hint: it is a different amount of time than in the bathroom

15 Mississippi

You're DONE washing and ready to dry when you get to 15

300

What should you do if there is a spill or if your table is really wet? *what materials do you use to clean the spill?

Use a CLEAN RAG from the clean rag bin

300

Where do the table buckets go at the end of class?

How do you know which rack to put the bucket/your art on?

On your grade rack at the back of the room on your table shelf

By your grade level (the big numbers above the racks)

300

What should you do if you’re confused but Ms. Easton is helping someone else?

Ask your table mates! You can also raise your hand to let me know that you need my help.

DO NOT yell out my name across the room

400

What do you do if you need to sharpen your pencil? Where are the pencil sharpeners?

Use a handheld pencil sharpener, they are in tiny bowls next to the pencil bucket

400

How many people can use the sink at a time?

One! Wait your turn...this is where 15 Mississippi helps out...

400

Where is the large blue dirty rag bin located?

On the floor, by the Bluey wall (under Bingo)

400

Where do you put your art if it is wet?

On the table’s shelf on the rack so it can dry safely

400

What are ways that you can show respect to the art room and your fellow students?

- Clean up after yourself - don't leave messes for other people to deal with
- Do not pick DOT (the sticker on the table)

- Deep clean your table (get glue, marker marks, trash, etc off of the table)

- Pick up trash off the floor

- Organize supplies

500

What do you do if you don't know where something is?

Ask two friends, if they don't know then ask Ms. Easton.

500

If you're helping clean materials at the white sink, where do you put stuff to dry? Is it okay to stack things on top of each other to dry?

The black drying rack next to the white sink

NO!!!! They will stick together and get moldy and super gross

500

Is it okay to take paper towels and wet them with water to clean the tables?

NO!!! We use wet wipes for cleaning the tables. Wetting paper towels or rags creates a huge wet mess and therefore requires extra clean up

500

What do you do if you can't find your art?

Recheck your table bin, look through all of the other table bins in your class. If you still can't find it, let Ms. Easton know and she will check the other class buckets for you

500

What are appropriate choices if you finish early?

Clean your workspace, put materials away, help clean around the room, sharpen pencils...use a doodle board, sit at your table and talk to your friends (as long as you're not distracting them from their work) OR be bored! It's okay to be bored, some of the best ideas come to us where we're bored :)
