Coverage Condition 99 - Loss Date Occurred within the first 55 Days of the Policy

EXCEPTIONS:

  • For New York risk, cancellations are not back-dated.  Payment status is not required for NY risk.
  • For Florida risk, policies are not Null and Voided for payments.  Payment status is not required for FL risk. 
  • For Kentucky risk policies, the CC95 may trigger for up to 30 days right after the policy transition. You must submit a coverage referral with the following note: "KY CC95 please advise if the policy went through a resumption, how the customer resumed the policy, and on what date/time did the resumption occur."

    1. If the date of loss can be verified and coverage is afforded, DO NOT submit a CPW. Only submit a Coverage Problem Worksheet if denial/disclaimer of coverage is recommended.
    2. If the date of loss cannot be verified, contact the insured’s prior insurance carrier to determine what coverages the insured had prior to starting a policy with GEICO and confirm when the policy ended.
    3. If the vehicle involved is a newly purchased vehicle, obtain a copy of the bill of sale.
  2. If the date of loss cannot be confirmed and the insured did not have a prior policy with another company, establish a vehicle inspection with a bad pay code and refer to SIU.
