If a client or their family is pressuring you to do something that is not on the plan of care, we want to help by informing the client/family of the reasons WHY we don't allow our PCAs to do that task!

•Changes in behavior/demeanor when a certain person is present
•Prevention of access to friends, family, telephone, social groups
•Changes in mental health – withdrawn, depressed, low self-esteem
•Changes in sleep patterns or appetite
•Unexplained fear or defensiveness

We should be marking the visit as "needs adjustment" and writing the change in the note space under "needs adjustment"
If you think it's a change that requires URGENT notification, please do not hesitate to call the agency number and request to speak with any member of management!

Promise to keep secrets
Make promises you cannot keep
Make assumptions
Be judgemental
Stop someone who is freely recalling events
Destroy evidence
Contact anyone other than your manager
If a vulnerable adult fully or partially discloses abuse
