What is the objective of Faradic Treatment

Improve muscle tone, firmness, and this visible result.

Explain what is  G5 and Vacuum Suction

A gyratory vibrator - most widely used mechanical massager
 Operates in a circular movement - driven by rotary electric motor
 Has several different applicator heads made from polyurethane or rubber
 Applicator heads come in various shapes and sizes
 Ideal for heavier work on large, bulky muscle
 Similar effects to those of manual massage
 Creates much deeper massage effect within the tissues
 Simulate movements of manual massage

Vacuum

A
mechanical system used to enhance effects of
lymphatic drainage of the skin and superficial
tissue combined with some of the effects of
manual massage

What is Infrared Therapy?

This type of treatment uses invisible light waves to produce heat in the body.

200

These small, bean‑shaped structures filter lymph and house immune cells.

What are lymph nodes?

200

What are Skeletal Muscles?

These muscles are attached to bones and are responsible for voluntary movements like walking and lifting

▪ Over cuts abrasions, skin diseases or disorders - Sunburn
▪ Varicose veins or phlebitis very high blood pressure
▪Artificial hips or knee replacements
▪Loss of skin sensations (sensitivity test)
▪Muscular disorders
▪Highly nervous clients
▪If client is already feeling discomfort in an area or Migraine or sinus discomfort
▪Circulatory Disorders
▪Muscle fatigue
▪IUD (Coil)
▪First few days of menstruation

What effect does G5 and Vacuum have on the body

Main effect= stimulation of blood and lymph circulation
o Speeds up removal of waste products & brings in oxygenated blood and nutrients
o Increased blood supply increases metabolic rate, resulting in improved tissue condition, and
increases erythema, resulting in improved skin tone
o Increased lymph aids removal of waste therefore improvement for cellulite conditions.
o Repeated pressure massage on adipose tissue promotes efficient dispersal of fatty deposits
o Friction of heads raises temperature which aids in muscle relaxation, relieving pain
o Pain in muscles is also relieved due to rapid removal of waste products such as lactic acid
o Aids desquamation, resulting in improved skin texture

Vacuum

• Reduce stress and fatigue
• Improve cellulite and stretch
marks
• Strengthen immunity’
• Aids in digestion
• Reducing edema
• Supports fighting infections
• Reducing water retention
• Helps with post recovery
• Boost weight loss
• Breaks up Adipose tissue

Explain Hamstring Muscle working with when using EMS.

Muscle

Origin and Insertion with Electrodes

Action

Bicep Femoris

Origin Ischium and Femur (+)

Insertion: Tibia and Fibula (-)

Action: flexes thigh at knee
extends thigh

300

What is faradaic current

This type of electrical current is an interrupted, low‑frequency current used in EMS to stimulate skeletal muscles

300

What are the contraindications of G5 and Vacuum? 5 for each

Delicate, sensitive,
highly vascular skin
• Telangiectasia
• Bruises
• Varicose Veins
• Thrombosis
• Skin Conditions and
Diseases
• Infective illnesses

In Body Treatments how do we support the lymphatic system and give 2 Examples of treatments that promote lymphatic flow

Our goal is to improve lymphatic flow, stimulate the metabolic rate
and thereby aid the body in waste removal and detoxification
Treatments involve moving the lymph towards the nearest lymph
nodes, into which the lymph will drain.

Dry brushing
Lymphatic/Aromatherapy massage
Vacuum Suction
Heat treatments

Explain Abdomen Muscles Muscle working with when using EMS.

Muscle (2)

Origin and Insertion with Electrodes

Action

Rectus Abdominus

Origin: Pubis (+)

Insertion: Ribs 5-7, and xiphoid process of sternum (-)

Action: flexes trunk/compresses abdominal contents

External Oblique

Origin: (+) Lateral surface of lower 8 rib

Insertion: (-) Linea alba, and iliac crest

Action: Compresses abdominal contents
contraction of both compresses abdomen
contraction of one side bends the vertebral
column laterally

400

Explain Reasons for poor contractions

If there is grease or
dirt on the skin
Insufficient saline on
the skin
The intensity is too
low
Faradic pads are
dirty or not wet
enough to conduct
current
Incorrect placement
of the pads not on
the origin or insertion
of the muscles
Loose leads or
connections to the
machine
Poor contact between
skin and pads
Too much adipose in
the area being
treated current
cannot pass through
the adipose

Explain what is Cellulite?

It’s not known what exactly causes cellulite. Cellulite forms when fibrous bands connecting your skin
to the underlying muscle tighten irregularly. This tightening pulls down on your skin, and the normal
layer of fat beneath the skin pushes upward. The result is a puckering appearance to the skin.
• Another theory is that higher amounts of the hormone estrogen may cause cellulite. Cellulite often
develops when women produce more estrogen, usually during adolescence or pregnancy

400

Explain each of the 3 body types

Mesomorph – wider shoulders in proportion to hips
Ectomorph – hips and shoulders similar proportion
Endomorph – hips usually wider than shoulders

Your EMS Padding the Front of thigh share 3 muscles your are padding and the origin, insertion and action

Rectus Femoris (Center)

Vastus lateralis (outer)

Origin Ilium and femur +

Insertion: Patella and tibia -

Action: Extend leg at knee/flexes thigh at hip

Gracilis (Inner)

Origin: Pubis (+)

Insertion: Medial side of tibia

Action: adducts thigh/flexes leg at knee

500

Explain Longitudinal padding and split padding

LONGITUDINAL – the electrode is
placed near the origin and insertion of
a particular muscle. This is used to
shorten muscles.
SPLIT PADDING – The electrode is
placed on the motor point of the same
muscle but on each side of the body.
This method is suitable for treating
small muscles where the actual motor
point is difficult to locate.

Share the 4 grades of cellulite

• Grade 0: There isn’t any cellulite on your body.
• Grade 1: Your skin is smooth when you stand up, but mild dimpling appears when you sit down.
• Grade 2: Your skin has moderate dimples when you stand up or when you sit down.
• Grade 3: Your skin has severe dimples when you stand up or sit down. Your skin also features
deep peaks and valleys (raised and depressed areas).

500

How can we use galvanic treatment for cellulite treatments?

The effect is achieved by using the current and often the active ingredients
within a gel substance, which has a stimulating effect. The products improve
the interchange of tissue fluids in the area , in addition, the treatment also
produces the specific benefits of the galvanic current. This treatment creates
a slight warming and tingling sensation
