A simulated emergency is conducted to test how fast people react to helping others who show distress or are in danger. An actor goes up to people in the crowd, asking for help, claiming that they are being followed by another actor who creeps up to them. Not many of the people in the crowd help the actor. If someone helps the actor, they are told afterwards that it was just an experiment and what they were studying.
