Protect from gossip, encourage group interactions vs one-on-one, communicate with parents and refrain from inappropriate encouragement of relationships. Shut down PDA if necessary.

These are the steps the teacher should take during a fire drill.

Tell students to leave belonging and quickly and quietly. Grab clipboard with rosters and evacuation route located by exit door. Lead students to designated rendezvous location (refer to diagram on clipboard). Leave door open, turn off lights, scan room for students left behind. At rendezvous point, call roll. Hold up "green" sign indicating you have everyone. Hold up "red" if a student is missing." Ensure students are facing away from the building. Remain quiet and lined up until the "all clear" from designated administrator. Once you hear the "all clear" it is safe to return to your building/classroom.

This is what you should do when a student comes to school with an injury or you see signs of abuse.

Anytime a student comes to school with an injury (bruise, sprain, break) or you abuse any signs of abuse an Observation form must be completed and turned in to the Administrator.

This is what I should do when I see an adult on campus with no badge.

Stop them, introduce yourself, ask how you can help them, take them to the front reception area to get an ID badge.

This is the proper procedure for classroom visitors/guest speakers.

Notify administrator at least 2 weeks in advance of attendance via email or in person for approval. Follow additional steps when applicable (getting proper forms sent from organization etc).
