Who receives the death benefit if a beneficiary dies?

Article Number

000004267

*If the beneficiary dies AFTER the Annuitant / Insured / Owner but BEFORE electing a claim**

The beneficiary must have outlived the annuitant/owner for a specified period of time for the deceased beneficiary's estate to have an interest in the claim.

Consult the policy documents for the specific policy information.

If the beneficiary lived long enough to have an interest in the claim... that deceased beneficiary's portion would go to the beneficiary's estate.

If the beneficiary did not live long enough to have an interest in the claim... it is treated as if the beneficiary had died before the annuitant/owner. Consult the policy shell for the specific policy information, most range from 10-30 days (120 hours) to establish an interest.

**If the Beneficiary dies BEFORE or SAME TIME  as the Annuitant / Insured / Owner**

Can you inform Zero agents when the commissions were released?

Article Number 000002052

Advisory Fees are NOT commissions

A zero rated agent is not paid directly by Allianz. S/he must go to his/her FMO/Next Higher Level to get commission information.

Annuity Rate Codes 2, 3, and 4 are considered ZERO rated agents

EXCEPTION to rule:

If an agent is zero rated to his/her own corporation, then once verified as principal of said corporation (the agent numbers should match), then s/he can receive commission information for the corporation

If the zero rated agent knows the TIN for the agency/next higher level AND is listed in a corporate resolution for said agency, s/he may receive commission information

If the zero rated agent had commissions paid directly to him/her and not to the NHL, then s/he may receive that commission information ONLY.

Example: Most recent contracting information shows agent is zero rated to an FMO, but we have commission statements on file that show we paid the agent directly. S/he can receive those commissions statements that s/he was paid directly.

Zero rate agents do not receive their commission statements from Allianz. Direct them to their NHL

Additional Information

Allianz does not pay commissions to a zero rated agent. That's why s/he would need to go to her/his next-higher-level/FMO to find out what s/he gets paid.

Zero rates agents can only get limited information about the commissions on a policy. We can speak to the premium paid on that policy and the commission option chosen, but all other more specific commission questions must be directed to their FMO/Next Higher Level.

What is needed for linking Requests?

Article Number 000004388

Overview:

Linking is when we transmit policy data electronically directly to a Broker Dealer back-office system (most commonly via DTCC or DST). This type of request is considered an E-Commerce/eSolutions linking request and is sent by CSRs.

Contract requirements CSRs should confirm prior to submitting a linking request:

In order for a contract to be linked the contract must be Inforce.

Aside from spousal continuation, a policy that has gone through claims, generally cannot be linked.

The policy must be in ID3 for Fixed and in VS10/ALIP/ALIP 2 for Variable.

Contracts housed in VersatUL and B300 cannot be linked.

If the agent or BD do not match, we cannot link the account(s)

Confirm the producer has an active appointment with Allianz.

Once the producer is inactive, the feed stops and eventually the information is no longer viewable (This may take up to 30 days).

A rep won't always use the same terminology that we do, like linking number or DTCC

See the additional information section below for more information and assistance with terminology
