Southern legislators wrote laws to protect slavery/let brutal conditions continue. Example~ In Virginia owners would not be charged with murder if they killed a slave during a "punishment".

The Enlightenment was when people stopped being so religious-centered and began centering things on science/government instead.

Mercantilsim is when you are turning a significant profit (trade surplus) because you are exporting more than you're importing. Colonies benefited England as they were designed to accure land, gold, & silver.

The Triangular Trade was a trade of slaves. It included Europe, Africa and North America / Caribbean.

What were the Salem witch trials? What lesson can be learned from what happened?

The Salem Witch Trials were when people were being accused of Witchcraft, then they would get executed without recognizing the law. A lesson learned was that you can't always trust people by just their word of mouth, and that you often need concrete evidence to truly prove something.

What were the Navaigantion Acts? Why did Britian have difficulty enforcing them in the colonies? 

The Navigation Act was passed by English Parliament~ you could only buy goods from English companies, & sell products to English buyers. Britian had trouble to enforec this, simply because they just a had a lack/such little control over them.

They became accustomed to governing themselves due to the great distance. They then started to focus on domestic issues to better themselves.

The middle passage was a very rough sea voyage that shipped millions of enslaved Africans Across The Atlantics to America. Some conditions they faced included overcrowding, disease and death.
