No. Drinking games and drinking game devices (e.g., beer pong or foldable tables), are not permitted.
Kegs, taps, beer balls, and other sources of alcohol, which can be used to irresponsibly ingest alcohol, are prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to, funnels, beer/water bongs, etc.

Residents must check their off-campus guest(s) in at Campus Safety upon arrival. Each guest is required to have photo identification on them at all times.
A resident is enjoying music in one of the resident halls during proper hours, midday. You notice the sound is enhanced in some way, so you knock on their door. When speaking with the resident, you notice a sweet-looking JBL BASSPRO sitting in the background. Is this a policy violation?
Yes! Despite the proper hours when music is played, Bass/subwoofer speakers are prohibited.

Yes, one aquarium up to five gallons is permitted for each apartment. Having two aquariums is not permitted and must be reported, as this is a policy violation.

No. Alcoholic paraphernalia, including containers, may not be used as decorations. Empty cans, bottles, or boxes will be deemed as proof of consumption. Students who are the age of 21 or older should dispose of or recycle containers immediately after consumption.
What are the four sources of ID acceptable to carry on campus for a guest?
A group of students in an apartment are playing a board game in the living room. A resident in the same suite is trying to study for her exam in her room. They are being loud enough that she cannot concentrate anymore. She confronts the group of friends, but they argue that this is their apartment too. Who has the right in this scenario? How would you address this issue?
The right of a student to a reasonable environment to study precedes any other privileges, and excessive noise is a violation of this right.
A couple of different ways this scenario could be solved. Addressing the noise issue with the game players could be done first. Talking to the student studying and referring them to a different study area potentially.
Upon entering an apartment suite, you notice a string of photos around the perimeter of the wall in the living room. The string isn't attached to the sprinkler system, but photos do hang around it and continue to be cast across the ceiling. What should be done about this arrangement?
Even though nothing is directly attached to the sprinkler system, objects hang close to it, which should be cleared away. Objects hanging from the ceiling are not permitted.

The underage student is NOT consuming the wine, but rather sitting with their friends and talking. Does this go against policy and should be shut down, or is the event acceptable to continue?
Acceptable scenario. Underage students may not be in the presence of alcoholic beverages. The only exception is an underage resident who lives with students of legal drinking age, may be in the presence of alcohol in their assigned apartment. The underage person may not consume or possess alcohol.
My roommate and one suitemate said that I could have a guest stay the night. The other suitemate said that they weren't comfortable with it. Since 2/3 of my suitemates said it was fine, I'm going to have my guest come and stay because it's majority rule. Does this go against Guest Policy?
At 3:00 PM, a resident is playing loud music. A neighboring resident knocks on their door and asks them to turn it down, but they refuse. What should be the next step? Is this a violation based on the time of day?
This is a courtesy-hours violation, and it can happen at any time of day. If the issue isn't addressed, Campus Safety could be called for a noise complaint.
During HSI in the apartments, you notice a large tapestry hanging on one of the walls, but it doesn't cover more than 20% of the wall. As the RA, what needs to be asked of the resident in order for the tapestry to stay and be "cleared"?
Since the tapestry isn't covering more than 20% of the wall, that remains within policy. The RA needs to ask if the item is fire-rated and show proof in order for the tapestry to stay hung.

You are walking by Canvan Hall at 3:00 pm and notice music is being played from a large speaker out of someone's window up on the 4th floor. It's not insanely loud, but pretty noticeable when walking past. Violation or not?
Yes, although speakers are allowed. Stereo speakers may not be placed in residence hall windows or in positions that amplify sound to the outdoors.
The location of the speaker to amplify sound is the issue here.
You discover a candle warmer in one of the dorms with an unused candle sitting beside it. Are this device and the presence of a candle against policy?
Candle warmers are approved items, but wicked/lightable candles are against policy. The candle must be confiscated and reported.
