We need to apologize to anyone we may have been mean to. We need to do this in order to be fully forgiven and have a clean slate.
Why do we say Avinu Malkainu?
It helps us connect more closely to Hashem. It helps us understand that Hashem loves us like a parent, rules over us, and wants us to keep His laws, like a king.
What is kaparot and why do we do it?
On Erev Yom Kippur, we choose a symbol - a chicken or money - and ask Hashem to forgive us and accept the chicken or the tzedaka as an ‘atonement’ for the things we did wrong.
