Elm Street School in this Tri-City caught fire February 10, 1953. Hoses were laid for a third of a mile along the street all the way to the waters of Spring Lake to supply the pumps.
What is Ferrysburg?
The town that sprung up around the very first train depot in Grand Haven at the base of Dewey Hill. After the depot moved to the city side of the channel it became a collection of fishing shanties. All that's left are the pilings from the old docks sticking up out of the water.
