There are exceptions, like up to $10,000 for a first home if the account is at least 5 years old. The best plan is to leave it alone so it keeps growing.

Question 6: On average, at what age do Americans become millionaires?

A) 35
B) 49
C) 62
D) 70

Вопрос 6: В каком возрасте американцы в среднем становятся миллионерами?

A) В 35 лет
B) В 49 лет
C) В 62 года
D) В 70 лет

Answer: B) 49

A large Ramsey Solutions study of US millionaires found the average age for reaching $1 million is 49. Data from Fidelity on people whose 401(k) passed $1 million shows they reached it in their late 50s.

The lesson: most millionaires aren’t young tech founders or lottery winners. They’re regular people who saved and invested steadily for 20 to 30 years. Fidelity found that its 401(k) millionaires earning under $150,000 a year typically saved about 22–25% of their pay, counting their employer’s match. Start in your 20s or 30s, and compound interest does most of the work by your 50s.

A) Roth IRA

B) Trump Account («счёт Трампа»)

C) Медицинский сберегательный счёт (HSA)

D) Опекунский сберегательный счёт

Answer: B) Trump Account

How it works:

Free $1,000: a one-time government deposit for children who are US citizens born January 1, 2025 through December 31, 2028. A parent has to claim the account and request the $1,000.

Anyone can add money: parents, grandparents, friends, up to $5,000 per child per year in total. Employers can also add up to $2,500 a year.

Invested in the stock market: the money goes into a low-cost S&P 500 index fund, with fees capped at 0.1%.

Locked until 18: after that, it works like a retirement account (IRA). Using it before 59½ usually means tax and a 10% penalty, except for things like college or up to $10,000 toward a first home.

Older kids can have one too: any child under 18 with a Social Security number can get an account. Only the free $1,000 is limited to 2025–2028 births.
