What is In-Kind?
In-kind contributions are non-cash contributions, such as volunteer time, donated goods, or services that support the Head Start program.
Why is In-Kind needed
Federal requirement (20% match)
Head Start is federally funded, but programs must provide a 20% match of the total grant amount.
What are ways to collect in kind?
In-kind can be collected through time, services, space, or donated items that support the program.
Scenario: A child attends your school, and you are hosting an event; the child's entire family comes to support the child. A Father, Mother, grandma, and grandpa. Who signs the in-kind?

What is proper in-kind documentation?
This is required to verify in-kind contributions and must include details such as the date, time spent, the service provided, whether the volunteer is a Center volunteer or a Volunteer TA, and a signature.
