Ride Along Requirements (name 3 out of the 9)
1. Completion of Basic Explorer
Academy and Harbor Academy if
the ride along is with Harbor
Division
2. Maintain a 90% on the quarterly
radio code and procedure test
3. Completion of the Red Cross First
Aid Course and CPR course.
4. Must pass an oral evaluation to be
given by the division advisor and
the associate advisor, which will
require confidence, quick thinking,
and proper attitude of an OCSD ride-along qualified Explorer
5. Recommendation from your
division Explorer Lieutenant,
Explorer Captain, and final approval
from the division Advisor
6. You must maintain of ten hours of
service per month, consisting of events
7. You must have not missed more
than two Explorer meetings within
any four-week period, unless the
Advisor has excused the absence
8. Explorers are only allowed two ride-
alongs in any one month period
during the school year. Explorers
will not be allowed to schedule ride-
alongs during the weekdays of the
school year
9. The Explorer Advisor will schedule
all ride- alongs by departmental
memo. All memos will be scheduled
two weeks in advance
